In Shona culture, it is customary to say goodbye with a handshake or hug. It is also common to say goodbye with a wave of the hand.
When saying goodbye to someone, it is polite to say something like "Ndokutenda kwazvo" (Goodbye forever) or "Ndokutenda kwamuri" (Goodbye for a while). You can also say "Ndokutenda kwako" (Goodbye to you) or "Ndokutenda kwedu" (Goodbye to us) if you are saying goodbye to a group of people.
It is also polite to say "Ndokutenda kwawo" (Goodbye to them) when saying goodbye to someone else's family or friends.
