Let’s start with the basic numbers. Here’s how to count from 1 to 10 in Central Khmer:

Now that you know how to count from 1 to 10, let’s learn the numbers from 11 to 20. In Khmer, the numbers from 11 to 19 are formed by combining the word for 10 (ដប់, dap) with the numbers 1 to 9.

Here's a quick breakdown of the combinations:

  • 21-29: Use the word for twenty (២០) followed by the numbers 1 to 9.
  • 31-39: Use the word for thirty (៣០) followed by the numbers 1 to 9.
  • 41-49: Use the word for forty (៤០) followed by the numbers 1 to 9.

And so forth for each tens group.
