Pitha pani[edit | edit source]

Pitha pani is a rice flour-based drink flavored with gondhhoraj lebu (citrus maxima). It’s a traditional winter drink popular in Assamese households. People usually consume it in the cold weather to keep the body warm.

Xaj[edit | edit source]

Xaj is made of rice or maize, which is fermented and distilled. It’s a popular traditional drink of Assam, especially in rural areas. In earlier days, xaj used to be consumed on special occasions, but now it's consumed even on a daily basis.

Zu Mai is a type of rice beer, which is a popular drink in the Assam region. It's consumed during festivals and also used in sacred rituals. To prevent it from going bad, traditional methods like bamboo tubes are used for storing.
