The branch division of mechanics are different to some degree among countries. For example: in former Soviet-influenced countries, “theoretical mechanics” includes statics, kinematics, dynamics, and is a sub-branch of “applied mechanics, engineering mechanics”; “analytical mechanics” includes Lagrangian mechanics and Hamiltonian mechanics, and is a sub-branch of “theoretical dynamics”.
