In order to make a question out of a statement, where there is a verb, this is followed by the unstressed interrogative particle -li.

  • Kiöpo binon-li pened? ‘Where is the letter?’
  • Kömof-li ko flen? ‘Is she coming with a friend?’
  • Voboms-li ko flens? ‘Are they working with friends?’
  • Visitons-li? ‘Do they visit?’ (both sexes)

Where there is no verb, the -li may be used without one:

  • no-li? ‘isn't it?’
  • odelo-li? ‘tomorrow?’
