Macedonian Slavic - The Macedonian language is spoken in:
North Macedonia+ Albania, Bosnia , Herzegovina, Romania, Serbia, emigrant communities predominantly in Australia, Canada and the United States. - Spoken by: around 2 million people
- Macedonian is an Eastern South Slavic language. Spoken as a first language by around two million people, it serves as the official language of North Macedonia. Most speakers can be found in the country and its diaspora, with a smaller number of speakers throughout the transnational region of Macedonia. Macedonian is also a recognized minority language in parts of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, and Serbia and it is spoken by emigrant communities predominantly in Australia, Canada and the United States.
- Macedonian (Македонски јазик, makedonski jazik) is a language belonging to the South Slavic group of the Indo-European language family. Like Bulgarian, it comes from the evolution of Slavonic (which still exists as a liturgical language).
- Macedonian has been the official language of North Macedonia since 1991, known as the Republic of Macedonia until 2019. It was one of the official languages of Yugoslavia from 1945 to 1991, where it has two million speakers.
- Macedonian is also spoken in northwestern Greece, eastern Albania, southwestern Bulgaria in the Strouma and Mesta valleys, as well as by a large diaspora settled in Western Europe, North America. North and Australia. It has minority language status in Albania and Serbia but not in Greece or Bulgaria. In Greece it is generally referred to as "Slavo-Macedonian", while in Bulgaria it is generally considered to be Bulgarian speaking.
