The other expats I was with definitely know more Czech than I do (I kept asking them how to say particular words, or how a particular case declension was for some word and they knew), and yet for the early part of the night they would either speak English to the Czechs (even though English isn’t their native language), or simply not speak at all.

Si vous faites des erreurs, qui s'en soucie ?!! Les autres expatriés avec lesquels j'étais connaissaient sans aucun doute mieux le tchèque que moi (je ne cessais de leur demander comment dire des mots en particulier, ou quel était un cas de déclinaison particulière pour un mot et ils le savaient), et pourtant, durant la première partie de la nuit ils parlaient soit anglais pour les Tchèques (même si l'anglais n'est pas leur langue maternelle), soit ils ne parlaient tout simplement pas.
