Stage 1 is the most delicate phase. Everything is new. The sounds of the language can sound almost indistinguishable to our ears. Vocabulary and grammar can also be completely new to us and be unlike anything we know in our mother tongue. It takes time for the brain to get used to the sounds, patterns, grammatical structures, vocabulary and rhythms of the new language. It takes time for the brain to process the huge quantity of information it is being exposed to. These pieces of information are stored in specific locations in the brain. Further time is then needed to “network” this new information in the brain to join up the words to the sounds. At an even higher level, an overall and superior networking is required to put together everything. This whole process is makes up the “linguistic core”.

L'étape 1 est la plus délicate. Tout est nouveau. Les sonorités de la langue peuvent sembler presqu'impossibles à distinguer pour vos oreilles. Le vocabulaire et la grammaire peuvent nous être complètement nouveaux et contraires à tout ce que nous connaissons dans notre langue maternelle. Le cerveau prend du temps pour s'habituer aux sons, aux formes, aux structures grammaticales, au vocabulaire et aux rythmes de la nouvelle langue. Cela prend du temps au cerveau de traiter cette importante quantité d'informations à laquelle il est exposé. Ces informations sont stockées dans des zones spécifiques du cerveau. Il est nécessaire d'y consacrer plus de temps pour que le cerveau « connecte » ces nouvelles informations, relie les mots aux sons. A un niveau plus avancé, il faut le réseau cérébral dans son entier et qu'il soit d'une qualité supérieure pour tout lier. Tout ce processus constitue le « noyau linguistique ».

    Example:

    French: Aller sur la [link1]page principale[/link1].

  • 4. Do not translate those words
    Words or phrases surrounded by a [notranslate] tag should not be translated.
    Example:
    English: You can say: "[notranslate]Hej![/notranslate]".
    French: Vous pouvez dire : "[notranslate]Hej![/notranslate]".

  • 5. Formal and informal Translations
    Please submit the formal expression of the item. Avoid slang and impolite expressions.
