Peer correction often helps to create a positive atmosphere as learners realize that natives speakers are not the only source of error correction and they can learn a lot from one another.
In fact, two partners with a common mother tongue know and can anticipate each other's difficulties and mistakes in a foreign language that they share. Regardless of their level, they can always exchange useful ideas on the method, the language, the pronunciation, and other basic aspects of their learning.

We pleiten nog altijd voor verbetering van de doeltaal onder leden, ook met niet moedertaalsprekers. Verschillende studerenden van dezelfde taal kunnen zeker elkaars prestaties verbeteren. Een verbetering van andere leden die geen moedertaalsprekers zijn helpt je om een positieve sfeer te creëren terwijl de studerenden beseffen dat moedertaalsprekers niet de enige bron van verbetering van fouten zijn, en dat ze veel van elkaar kunnen leren.
In feite zouden twee partners met een gemeenschappelijke moedertaal beter moeten kunnen anticiperen wanneer zich een probleem voordoet bij het vertalen van dezelfde brontaal in de doeltaal. Ongeacht hun niveau kunnen ze altijd bruikbare ideeën uitwisselen bij taalmethodiek, uitspraak, en andere fundamentele aspecten van hun leerproces.
