Hello! My name is Nathaniel Stabeno. I’m from Dallas, Texas but spent much of my life outside the United States (7.5 years in Jordan, 4 in the UAE, and 1 in Germany). Currently, I’m an undergraduate at the University of Notre Dame, studying classics and mathematics and working as a tutor in the University’s Writing Center. I enjoy reading (chiefly literature, philosophy, theology, and history), traveling, language learning (in addition to German, I’m studying Ancient Greek and Latin, and hope to start on Old English soon), having cross-cultural discussions, and writing. I first started learning German in Germany when I was in elementary school, and resumed my study in high-school for a foreign language requirement. As I became more acquainted with German language and culture, I began also to appreciate them more. I would love to gain enough proficiency in the language to read and discuss these works fluently in their original language. Further, as an aspiring scholar, knowledge of German could prove immensely helpful in my future career.
