Hello! I am native English speaker interested in improving my Swahili. I have an intermediate grasp of the language. I can understand a lot of Swahili news/radio/music, but I still struggle to communicate in the language. Through polyglot club, I hope to improve my ability to have casual conversations in Swahili, so I can do a better job of conversing with locals when I am in East Africa. I am particularly interested in learning Kenyan Swahili, but would love to practice with speakers of any dialect. I am down to have a casual conversation about anything, but I really enjoy hearing different types of stories - feel free to reach out me with your favorite Swahili books,movies, songs, or folk tales. In addition, I’d like to practice some of the French and German that I’ve learned in the past. Becoming fluent in these languages is not a priority for me right now, but I’d also be down to have a conversation in either language ( though note that I am very much a beginner in German. My french is a bit better, but rusty from lack of practice).
